Wonder Woman Named Honorary UN Ambassador

Resized Image

I recently read that the UN has made Wonder Woman an honorary ambassador for the empowerment of women and girls. At first I laughed because I thought it was a joke. Then I clicked the article only to realize that it wasn't a joke, it was real. So then I laughed some more because honestly what else is there to do in this stupid world we live in where reality is just so bizarre it doesn't even seem like reality.

I love Wonder Woman. I used to watch the TV series faithfully when I was a kid because she was the only woman on TV who was kicking ass. I didn't like her outfit but what can you do. You have to take female power wherever you can get it even when it's heavily sexualized for male viewers. This new Wonder Woman is the only reason I went to see Batman Vs Superman. I loved what I saw on film and am planning to go see the Wonder Woman movie when it comes out.

As much as I love Wonder Woman I don't think she should be the honorary ambassador for the UN because she is a COMIC BOOK CHARACTER! She is strong in a movie. I don't want someone who is strong in a fictional reality to be an ambassador for the empowerment of women and girls. I want a woman who is strong in real life. I think that is the problem with our world. We can only accept strength from women who are fictional because real strength in real women scares us.

Wonder Woman isn't real. Nothing about her is real. She is a fake woman created by a man, dressed in a hootchie outfit to please men, and everything she says is scripted by men so how in the hell does she represent women. Wonder Woman is strong in a way that women can never be strong. No one would like Wonder Woman in real life. She kills anyone who opposes her. She has the strength of ten men. Which woman in real life has the strength of ten men? Nothing about her represents a real woman. This is why making making her an honorary ambassador for the empowerment of women and girls is a farce. It mocks real women, it makes us feel inadequate, and it sets a standard that no woman can ever reach.

As much as I love Wonder Woman, she has got to go.
